I'm a big believer that innovation starts with trying, and there's no better way to experiment than with data and coding. Working with big data and programming has inspired me to take a crack at building something with open source tools, even if it's small. And there's truly no better fulfillment than seeing your work come to life before your eyes.

Experience

Manager, Business Intelligence Engineering

The Kraft Heinz Company

Developed time-triggered unit tests, consisting of 20+ edge cases using Snowflake's Python connector to check for data integrity issues in point-of-sales database consisting of 1.6 billion records, improving issue detection speed from 24 hours to under 30 minutes. Received green light to scale solution to SPARK shipment data set.


Built a prototype acronym dictionary using Javascript, Node.js and PostgreSQL to standardize a single source of truth for industry terminology for new-hire onboarding. Received green-light from the leadership team to implement solution globally.


Developed a web data visualization platform using Python, Flask and Azure App Services to connect to consumer panel data in Snowflake for media planning optimization by interviewing teams on problems to solve, developing wireframes to review UX designs, and testing prototype web application with 500+ visits during beta-run.


Established a proof of concept for A/B testing geo-targeted social ads by conducting data discovery sessions with 5 vendors for web/mobile signals while leading brainstorming sessions with digital team to design user stories, receiving an incremental $120k budget for in-year data purchase.


Launched an online learning module on Snowflake using Articulate Rise for training course design and Cornerstone for deployment to increase corporate adoption of Snowflake databases. Received an 80% user completion rate of course during first 3 months of launch.

Led database migration projects to Snowflake by designing new ELT framework, leveraging DBT's modular capabilities, conducting agile sprint plans with data engineering via JIRA, and orgnanizing code reviews, improving ingestion time from 3 days to 4 hours for databases containing over 40 GB of data.


Launched a standardized innovation tracker by creating an efficient reporting layer in Hadoop, defining KPIs across sales, marketing and finance, designing front-end solution in Tableau, and implementing cross-channel training thereby removing siloed reporting.


Served as a corporate trainer for SQL and Snowflake, mentoring data enthusiasts across several functions in the organization by documenting new user guides in Confluence, showcasing examples of view builds and working on live cases with each student.

Eliminated on average five hours each month from revamping several financial reports on gross revenue, margin, promotions and product assortment by consolidating multiple, omni-channel data inputs, automating the data feed into Tableau by developing SQL-based views, and working with stakeholders to beta-test reporting solutions.


Managed the development of a data library across multiple customers by standardizing the product prices and their derivatives, organizing data input from various sources and recommending areas to optimize pricing to maximize profitability.

Mitigated $0.4 million in supply chain risks by correcting material bills for co-manufactured items and standardizing a material change form using workflow analysis to support change management with procurement and co-packers.


Removed 100 hours per month of inefficiency by initiating process of transitioning a copacker from a consignment to a turnkey manufacturing model, allowing for more time allocation to value engineering and continuous improvement activities.
